Originally from Southern California, Tim Englert has made and exhibited sculpture in a variety of media for 40 years. He has a Master's Degree in Art from Humboldt State University, California, where he specialized in ceramic sculpture. His experience in mold-making, casting and faux-finishing combine to produce these current figurative found-object reconstructions.

He is a Master Carpenter and in 2006 worked as a lead carpenter on the Temple of Hope , a major art installation at the Burning Man Festival in Nevada.

Currently a partner in the design/build firm Blue Lotus Project along with his wife, designer Marcy Voyevod, he has restored the couples' 1913 Craftsman Bungalow in Alameda and has rebuilt a vintage Silver Streak travel trailer as their home office space.
